When you work for the web - it is important to keep an eye on your file sizes and file names, so it is handy to be able to see which file extension your image and webpage file have. On a Mac you will see these by default; whereas the standard setting on your PC might have hidden them from view.

So for you PC users - a quick step-by-step on how to set your website root folder to show all file extensions:

1 - open your site's main root folder
2 - choose from the top menu > tools > folder options
(in Vista - you need to select: 'organize' and then 'folder and search options')
3 - select the 'view' tab from the top of the folder options window
4 - uncheck the option "Hide extensions for known file types"
    5 - click ok ~ done ;)

You can choose to apply this setting to all folders if you wish by clicking the 'apply to all folders' button.
