Thanks for this Prisca. I'm going back to the drawing board with the visual design of my thesis project, and this is a much better starting point than staring vacantly at a blank piece of paper.

Yaroslav,
thanks, enjoying the easter break - time for me to catch up on client work ;)
I'll comment on your forum post with feedback on your design.

about images used in fonts - a bit of a tricky one ;)
I know there are quite a number of fonts which use imagery - but as the project's focus is on typography - this will not be accepted, sorry.
If the icons/symbols are typographical elements - such as the more elaborate ampersands, or even the less used section or paragraph markers, then that will be ok. But if you choose a font which has literal imagery - then that would be cheating :)

Hi Prisca,

How is the easter holiday? Wanted to ask you if I can use images which are included in a font. Like this for example:
http://www.dafont.com/i-am-sherlocked.font
or no images at all?

Could you have a look at my design for the web thesis? I haven't been at the delight crit.

Amy,
if this project, with only the one single page and its content adds up to more than 2 MB - then you will need to optimise further, not only for the submission but also for online viewing... The maximum upload is more than enough for this one ;)
Are you images saved to the correct size/dimension? Have you saved them all via the 'save for web and devices' function (sounds like they might not be saved for web yet)? Have you limited the colour scope for you gifs as much as possible?

if you don't manage to bring the file size down enough to submit it - just bring in your file and we can have a look :)
