Welcome to my website!
This website is used to promote the velvet flower in my hometown of Nanjing, China. The art of making velvet flowers is a traditional art of Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, and is one of the provincial intangible cultural heritage lists of Jiangsu Province. The name “velvet flower” means “Rong Hua (glory)”, which means good luck and blessing in Chinese. They are made from natural silk and copper wire, and are often used for folklore and ceremonial decoration in ancient China. Most of the symbolic shapes are taken from the symbols of folk life and are used to express good luck and good intentions.
I hope that through my website you will learn more about this traditional Chinese culture and enjoy it.
