About The Green Mile
This 1999 movie adaptation of Stephen King's best-selling novel takes place in a Louisiana prison in 1935. Prison guard Paul Edgecomb (Tom Hanks) meets convict John Coffey (Michael Clarke Duncan) and it is an experience which will change his life forever.
Coffey, an eight foot giant, is on Death Row convicted of the murder of two children ‐ and he is afraid to sleep in his cell without a light on. Coffey also has a special gift, one which he uses to prove to the guards that he has been wrongfully convicted.

What everyone has to say…
“Darabont follows King's book fairly closely, allowing the audience to steep itself in the setting and characters slowly, like reading a good novel.”film.com
“From its deceptively easygoing beginning to the heart‐wrenching finale, The Green Mile keeps you wonderfully high above the cynical ground.”Washington Post
“Darabont cleverly manipulates the emotions and only the very hard‐hearted will remain dry-eyed throughout or unshocked by the harrowing execution scenes.”Radio Times
