The Lion King

simba's ceremony

This Disney animated feature follows the adventures of the young lion Simba (Jonathan Taylor Thomas), the heir of his father, Mufasa (James Earl Jones). Simba's wicked uncle, Scar (Jeremy Irons), plots to usurp Mufasa's throne by luring father and son into a stampede of wildebeests. But Simba escapes, and only Mufasa is killed. Simba returns as an adult (Matthew Broderick) to take back his homeland from Scar with the help of his friends Timon (Nathan Lane) and Pumbaa (Ernie Sabella).

Out of all the movies that had ever come out of Disney, "The Lion King" is what I consider to be their greatest achievement of all time. The story was epic on giving an insight of the steps in becoming the next-in-line, the challenges on losing someone dear to them and overcoming their fears, and fighting for what's rightfully theirs. Not only that, but its breathtaking animation really grabs the viewers' experience by showcasing the vast landscapes surrounding Pride Rock as well as all the natural wildlife that settles within. - Lexie Tweedy

Ah..."The Lion King." There's so much I can say about this movie but all my comments always come down to one thing: this movie is beautiful. Pure genius. A timeless story. I might be a little biased in my beliefs, seeing as the first movie I remember seeing in theatres is "The Lion King" and I still watch it on a regular basis and know all the words but I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who agree with what I have to say. "The Lion King" is beautiful; hands down, it is the best Disney film ever created. A timeless film! - Meydiana Rizki

Not just a great kids movie but a great movie in general. This is a fantastic movie filled with great characters and story and beautiful animation. First off the characters in this story are so good and feel like real life characters even though they are animation. When Mufasa dies you can’t help but cry and you can’t help but get goosebumps the ending scene where Simba rises to become king. All of that is because of the characters and how you care for them so much. All in all this is a classic Disney movie and one of my all time favorites. - Frank Gaughen

The Lion King is an awesome Disney movie. Probably the best one yet. Nobody has ever done a film that is so creative, and imaginative as this one. James Earl Jones is excellent as Mufasa, Matthew Broderick and Moira Kelly did a good job as Simba and Nala as adults, Nathan Lane is remarkable as Timon, and Ernie Sabella is great as Pumbaa, I like Mr. Bean as Zazu, and Jeremy Irons is epic as Scar. It's a Disney film that no other animated company has ever work on, and it's one of the greatest movies ever made. - Liam Campbell
