To keep our sites safe, keep track of changes and edits to both content as well as site settings, let’s install a plugin which will allow us to keep backups easily.
The Updraft plugin comes as free version with a premium paid plan, the free version will be sufficient for our websites at this point.
To install
- log into your site’s admin – go to ‘plugins’
- click ‘add new’ & search for ‘updraft’
- install & activate
- configure settings
- done :)
UPDATE ’23
An alternative, possibly better option by now is the WPVivid Plugin which will also allow you to migrate your site to a new server, should you want to do this in future.
