Qiu Shengrong is one of the great performers in China’s Peking Opera circle. The role he specializes in is Wu Sheng (a male character skilled in martial arts). Qiu Shengrong and “The Case of Executing Chen Shimei”
Synopsis: After the scholar Chen Shimei wins the first prize in the examination, he is admitted as the emperor’s son-in-law, and hides the fact that he has his wife Qin Xianglian and two children. Qin Xianglian with children thousands of miles to Beijing to find a husband, but was rejected by Chen Shimei and sent to kill. Helpless, Qin Xianglian find Bao Zheng complaint.
